A very important initiative of Rizarios is the establishment and operation of the Cultural Centre “KOSTAS LAZARIDES”. It has been operating since August 1990 in Koukouli, Zagori, Ioannina. It is housed in a traditional house donated to Rizarios along with its botanical collections and other museum – archival material by the late teacher, folklorist, naturalist and writer Kostas Lazaridis. There, the visitor and the scholar will find historical letters, documents, old newspapers, palaeotypes, folklore texts, old newspapers and a rich library.

The goals of Rizarios are not limited to the conservation, study and exploitation of the collections of Kostas Lazaridis. Its basic aim is that the Cultural Centre “K. Lazaridis”, constantly enriched with similar material from other sources, will, in the near future, become the core of a living interest in the research, promotion and exploitation of the history, folklore and, in general, the cultural tradition of Zagorochoria.
