The students of the 1st class of the Ecclesiastical High School of R.E.S., visited the historical building of the former hospital of the Rizarios Ecclesiastical School in Rizari Park at 24 Vas.Sofias Street, as well as the Church of St. George of the old school.

The new students of the School were welcomed by the President of P.E.S. Mr. Panagiotis Tsakiris and Mr. Dimitrios Anagnostopoulos, member of the Board. Professor Emeritus of Child Psychiatry, University of Athens.

There was a briefing on the history of the Foundation, the work of Saint Nektarios as director of the School, the Benefactor of the Rizari Brothers and the use of the existing building as a hospital, during the operation of the Rizarios School from 1844 to 1961 in the Rizaris estate (now Rizaris Park) and then as administrative offices. The students received advice and admonitions with a view to their progress, happiness, respect and harmonious coexistence during their Lyceum life which began at the Rizarii Church School. Then there was a guided tour of the photo exhibition “Ioannina 1913-2013” which is currently operating in the renovated premises of the preserved building.
