Award to His Eminence Archimandrite Nikolaos Ch. Ioannidis.
On Sunday, December 17, 2023, at the Church of St. George of Kariki, the President of the Multimember Council of the Rizarios Ecclesiastical School, Professor Pan. Tsakiris, in a modest ceremony, awarded His Eminence Archimandrite Nikolaos Ch. Ioannidis the Order and Medal of St. Nektarios, in honor of his work for the sake of Orthodoxy and Hellenism.
His Eminence Archimandrite Nicholas Ch. He is a professor of Ecclesiastical Grammar at the Department of Theology of the Theological School of the University of Athens.
He has studied in Athens, also in Paris (as a scholar of the French Government) and Belgrade (as a scholar of the Church of Greece). He also studied at the Sorbonne School and attended the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Belgrade.
He holds a doctorate from the Faculty of Theology of the University of Belgrade.
He participated as a lecturer in many conferences in Greece and abroad and represented the Department of Theology at the Fifth International Congress of Orthodox Theological Schools in Belgrade.
He served as President of the Steering Committee of the Athens Ecclesiastical Academy (2007-2017).
He has been honoured by the Church of Greece with the highest distinction, the Golden Cross of Apostle Paul and by the Patriarchate of Moscow with the Order of St. Sergius.
He knows French, Russian and Serbian, also English and Bulgarian.
After his retirement from the University of Athens, he was invited by the Theological Faculty of the Church of Cyprus, where he teaches courses in his subject area to this day.
He is a clergyman of the Archdiocese of Athens and has served since 1984 until today as head of the Holy Church of St. George of Kariki.
His Eminence Archimandrite Nikolaos Ch. Ioannidis has been distinguished for his scientific and academic work, as well as for his works of charity, responding to the spirit of the great benefactors of the nation, Mantos and George Rizaris.
In recognition of his work, the Rizari Church School honors a clergyman, university theologian and scholar, whose presence honors our Orthodox Christian Church.
